The combination linked to my Harley's sound system prouduce crysltal clear sound. I wished that I buoght them togeather. I truly would recommend this combination to all. Purchased my Zumo a year ago. Just purchased the GXM30 satallite antenna.
I just bought myself a brand new mount and am hoping that works, but am not confident.I tried putting a small piece of wadded up paper and then a small circular table-top felt protector in there to press the connector into place and that worked for a short time but is no longer working.Has anyone had this problem and found a solution. I had Garmin send a new XM antenna and that didn't solve the problem. I love my Zumo 550 and GXM30, but the small USB-style connector that connects the XM with the motorcycle mount seems to vibrate itself loose on my unit and then the unit loses connection. I am not sure if I am missing something or not.
I have it mounted on my semi truck driver side mirror arm, and in eastern Ohio and PA it's cutting out alot.Pros: One thing on the dash.Cons: Cuts out even when the south sky is clear. Make sure that this antenna is up high. I have the Garmin StreetPilot 7200 and this antenna was required to use the unit for XM. I got rid of alot of clutter on my dash by having both gps and XM in the same.
As for the Battery in the Zumo, it didn't work right. It's a bit big, but I was able to make a permanent mount on my Harley. Called XM and got it started and now I have all the radio I need plus Directions from my Zumo. I bought the Zumo 550 from Amazon for a little over $500. Would not hold a charge, I called Garmin and they sent me (2) new batteries.Overall I'm real happy with my Zumo and XM. Much better then my Tom-tom rider 2, and I just got XM GXM30 from Amazon. new, and it has worked great. And you have to watch this site but I got my GXM30 for $24.99, thru Amazon from Car Toys in Seattle.
Great music, weather and traffic. The Garmin GXM30 satellite Antenna is perfect for the Harley.
